Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for talented Senior Wet Utilities Engineer (Gravity) to join our award-winning team remotely. This critical role will work as part of the Infrastructure team, developing hydraulic designs for different types of projects in different design stages especially flood modelling. We envisage success in this role to include: Preparing and reviewing hydraulic networks designs following project’s scope for gravity networks. Preparing and/or reviewing design hydraulic models for the different hydraulic networks. Ensuring all calculations are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Authority Standards and Codes of Practice as per the project location and requirements. Coordination and day-to-day coaching to junior staff within this discipline. Coordinating and giving technical guidance to CAD Technicians / BIM Technicians to produce drawings and models. Preparing and reviewing technical reports, design drawings, and other deliverables. Lead the discipline’s team. Monitoring the technical quality of the projects to ensure that the projects delivered to Clients are of the highest technical quality and engineering practice standard. Coordinating with other disciplines to achieve a fully integrated design. Liaising with the Client and Authority representatives to obtain design approvals, as necessary. Providing discipline’s input for technical proposals for submission to external parties. Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and more than 10 years of experience in a similar position. Having a membership of a professional institution is desirable. Furthermore, you should demonstrate: Strong experience in flood modelling. Proven experience in the design of hydraulic infrastructures. Experienced in hydraulic design software such as EPANET, SWMM or other equivalent. Proficiency in software such as Autodesk AutoCAD and MS Office. Knowledge in BIM and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Solid written and verbal communication skills in English. Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice. Monitoring quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments. Maintaining records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. Preparing surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. Checking and ensuring effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines. Responsibilities Review, verify, and approve materials submittals, method statements, and suppliers in line with project specifications and Ashghal Approved Vendor List requirements. Oversee and participate in site and laboratory testing of construction materials (asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soils, etc.). Ensure all delivered materials comply with QCS 2014/2022, project specs, and relevant international standards. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and third-party laboratories to ensure accurate testing, sampling, and certification. Maintain complete records of test results, inspections, NCRs, corrective actions, and compliance documentation. Review and interpret test reports promptly and provide recommendations to the project management team. Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive measures when non-compliance is identified. Support the construction team with expert input on materials selection, durability, and suitability based on site conditions. In case of any discrepancies in the specifications or during the material approval process, coordination with PWA Materials Specialists to seek their recommendations and advice, resolve material-related issues, and recommend alternative solutions when necessary Conduct inspections of delivered materials and ensure approval prior to use on site. Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 14 years experience in Drainage and Utility projects with at least 5+ years in Qatar, partnered with a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. Proven track record on PWA road or infrastructure projects (mandatory). UPDA/MME registration is mandatory. Strong understanding of QCS standards, Ashghal materials procedures, and international testing standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO). Ability to interpret technical data and communicate clearly with contractors and consultants. Strong documentation and quality control skills.
