As the largest independent oil producer operating in the country, we are committed to safe and efficient operations while reducing our carbon footprint and helping others do the same.Job OverviewThe Senior / Electrical Technician (High Voltage) will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of all High Voltage electrical system and equipment as well as associated low voltage systems and equipment. Also, to carry out switching operations on transmission, distribution, and end elements, particularly in the high voltage processes. In addition, will be responsible for maintaining a safe and reliable field wide electrical system critical to meeting production and injection targets.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and coordinate preventive maintenance tasks on oil field electrical equipmentCarry out high voltage switchingCarry out and supervise Operation & Maintenance for both high and low voltage applicationsDevelop and participate in training programs for junior electriciansRead and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manualsMake 'As Built' drawingsProvide input on process optimization opportunities as they relate to equipment life cycle costsEnsure compliance with all company and governmental safety, environmental and health rules and regulationsCarry out trips investigations and Root cause analysis (RCA)Understand electrical protection fundamentals and perform basic electrical protection testing and troubleshootingQualifications & RequirementsMinimum of a College Diploma with 8 years of experience in High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems & industrial equipmentExperience in power generations, transmission, and distribution systemsExperience in the Oil and Gas industry is preferredHolds a recognized Authorized Electrical Person CertificationStrong working knowledge of a wide variety of oil field electrical process equipmentAbility to troubleshoot equipment failures and work independently when necessaryDemonstrate knowledge in the repair, testing and maintenance of various types of oil field electrical equipment, including but not limited to HV motors, VSD, UPS, Batteries & Battery chargers, transformers, HV circuit breakers, HV cables and high voltage OHL, electrical protection systemsSupervise and in charge of operation and maintenance crew/activityDemonstrate knowledge of electrical safety systems and regulationsAbility to set expectations & hold others accountable to ensure safety and environmental protectionGood PC skillsGood communication and interpersonal skills
