We are seeking a talented and motivated Medical Assistant to support our providers with both clinical and administrative tasks at our Medina office. This role includes rooming patients, assisting with dermatologic procedures, documenting in the EMR as a clinical scribe, supporting patient education, and performing front office duties as needed.Compensation & ScheduleCompensation Range: $18.00 - $22.00/hrSchedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)One Saturday per month, as needed for patient schedulingDaytime clinical hours with occasional variations based on provider or patient needsEssential FunctionsEscort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, collect short histories, and update medication listsPrepare exam rooms based on scheduled procedures and anticipate provider needsAssist providers with biopsies, excisions, surgical procedures, and other dermatologic treatmentsScribe for providers during patient visits, accurately documenting clinical notes, treatments, diagnoses, and patient instructions directly into the EMR in real timeMaintain and update patient records, charts, and EMR documentation to meet compliance standardsEducate patients regarding provider instructions, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and medication usageMonitor and complete lab documentation, biopsy/culture logs, telephone encounters, and task queues in the EMRHandle clinical phone calls, follow up on biopsy results, and communicate with patients under provider directionPerform autoclave procedures, maintain sterility standards, and complete quality control checksComplete assigned administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, scanning documents, answering phones, and processing prior authorizationsTravel to nearby Apex Skin locations as needed to support clinical operationsQualificationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectivelyCustomer service mindset with professionalism and patient focusProficiency in basic computer software, medical terminology, and EMR documentationAbility to document clinical information accurately as a scribe (training provided)2+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred (dermatology experience is a plus)Active CMA, RMA, or Medical Assistant certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certificationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred, but not requiredPrior clinical scribe experience is helpful, but not requiredCareer Growth OpportunitiesSurgical or Mohs assistant rolesAesthetic support roles (laser, cosmetic procedures)Lead MA or clinical trainer responsibilitiesCross-training in reception, lab coordination, or clinical supportSupervisory or clinical operations pathways over timePhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentProlonged periods of standing, walking, and sittingFrequent use of hands and fingers for typing and instrument handling
