About the RoleWood is recruiting for a Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across Oil and Gas projects. Wood forms the Energy & Materials pillar of Sidara - a global partnership uniting leading multidisciplinary engineering, design, and project management companies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain RBI programs in accordance with API 580/581 and client specificationsConduct risk assessments and corrosion loop reviews across process units and equipmentIdentify and evaluate damage mechanisms applicable to fixed equipmentProvide expert guidance on inspection intervals, mitigation strategies, and risk reductionCoordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure RBI program alignmentLead and facilitate RBI workshops, HAZOP, and risk-based studiesPrepare and review RBI reports, documentation, and technical deliverablesProvide technical mentorship and training to junior RBI engineersLiaise with client stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirementsSupport fitness-for-service assessments and remaining life calculationsEnsure RBI methodology aligns with industry codes, standards, and best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, or Corrosion EngineeringMinimum 10+ years of experience in RBI within the Oil & Gas industryAt least 5 years in an SME or Lead RBI roleStrong knowledge of API 580 / API 581 standardsProven experience with damage mechanism identification and risk assessmentDiversity StatementWe are an equal opportunity employer that recognises the value of a diverse workforce.
