Safety Engineer - Oil & Gas

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing process safety systems to ensure safe operations within oil and gas facilities. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to process safety. Lead process safety audits, inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety considerations into design and operational procedures. Deliver safety training and awareness programs focused on process safety topics. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process safety and prepare reports for management review. Promote a strong safety culture through proactive engagement and communication. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 10 years experience in process safety within the Oil & Gas industry. Core expertise in Process Safety, Risk Management, RCA, Safety Management Systems, Incident Reporting, etc. Comprehensive knowledge of process safety management standards such as OSHA PSM, API RP 754, and IEC standards. Proven ability to conduct hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), risk assessments, and incident investigations. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO, API, CSP, HAZOP or equivalent process safety qualifications are highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
