The successful candidate will manage the technical definition and configuration of new aircraft and project manage the related supplier and buyer furnished equipment (BFE) programmes so that aircraft are delivered to Emirates exacting specifications on time and without any significant quality issues carried over into their normal in-service operation.
What you will do:
- Work closely and at all levels of management with airframe manufacturers, vendors, and other stakeholders within Emirates to ensure that the contracted technical specifications given for new aircraft is meeting all Emirates requirements.
- Participate in co-ordinating meetings with airframe, engine manufacturers and vendors to ensure that Emirates interests are represented and protected. These meetings may include, but are not limited to, Customer Focus Groups, Working Together meetings, Weight & Performance reviews, Reliability & Maintainability review.
- Lead the team, provide coaching, professional and developmental support to ensure effective discharge of the section?s objectives with a high degree of professionalism, commitment, and integrity, with a focussed approach on UAE Nationals development.
- Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams ensuring motivation, capability, development and resources are available to achieve performance objectives. Ensure all deadlines and major milestones are met.
- Post HoV, lead the technical onsite team at Airbus (Hamburg & Toulouse), Boeing (Seattle) and vendor locations who are responsible for the oversight during aircraft production phase and delivery phase to ensure optimal build standards, in line with Emirates expectations and contractual obligations
- Co-ordinate production audits for BFE and work closely with the manufacturers for early identification and rectification of quality escapes and agree re-work plans, including leadership of critical meetings to resolve production challenges.
- Ensure that production aircraft conform precisely to Emirates specifications, that no significant quality issues exist and that any non-conformities are documented together with satisfactory commercial/technical remedies in place via manufacturers Commitment Letters. Ensure that Aircraft commitment letter management is done in coordination with EK on site Representative, EK legal and Engineering project leadership.
- Coordinate Aircraft delivery schedule with all internal and external stake holders.
- Participate in Aircraft Transfer of Tile discussion and finalisation including final acceptance of new aircraft.
- Participate in Airline Representative forums to collectively escalate Aircraft production issues to the attention of Aircraft manufacturers leadership.
