An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group Medical Department as Senior Physiotherapist. The Senior Physiotherapist will assist with the establishment of physiotherapy services and the management of the physiotherapy team within the Lifestyle Medicine and Human Performance department. The role also includes the development and implementation of a comprehensive program to help prevent and manage musculoskeletal injuries in QR staff as well as manage a clinical caseload.

Your duties would include:

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop comprehensive and innovative physiotherapy strategies aligned with the departmental goals and employee needs.
  • Research and evaluate emerging trends to facilitate the development of effective preventative strategies to reduce the incidence of musculoskeletal injuries within the company.
  • Lead provision and development of comprehensive one-on-one and group physiotherapy and rehabilitative services in line with best practice and professional body guidelines.
  • Provide consultancy services to departmental managers to promote and educate on the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries among QR Group staff.
  • Maintain and priorities own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
  • Promote a caring and respectful environment in which all clients can expect a high quality and professional service.
  • Engage and facilitate multi-disciplinary case discussion to improve and optimize patient care.
  • Use evidence-based practice, quality improvement methods and research to inform, measure and evaluate own practice.
  • Assist Occupational Health team in developing the return-to-work initiatives for employees returning from long-term MSK related leave through employee rehabilitation programs.
  • Work flexibly and autonomously in managing own schedule and program delivery according to staff and operational need where required.
  • Develop and update a section of the departmental resource library focused on occupational MSK principles and strategies within own scope of practice.
  • Assist line manager with promotion and facilitation of staff Ambassador Program to ensure that staff understand unique needs and challenges faced by employees regarding MSK conditions and injury.
  • Receive referrals and provide interdepartmental support to the Primary Care and Aeromedical teams to expand the remit and quality of services offered.
  • Review and update SOPs relevant to service delivery.
  • Participate in audit and applied research in the field of occupational physiotherapy within the aviation sector.
  • Act as an ambassador for physiotherapy and advocate for a workplace culture that values and prioritizes employee health.
  • Manage and support the clinical development of the physiotherapy team.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements to maintain a physiotherapy license within the State of Qatar.

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our Group Medical team. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level with minimum 6 years relevant experience.
  • Fulfills the regulatory requirements to obtain a physiotherapy license with the Department of Health Practitioners, Qatar
  • Experience in delivering comprehensive physiotherapy services
  • Experience managing a physiotherapy team
  • Experience working within the aviation healthcare or military healthcare would be an advantage
  • Experience in developing and implementing musculoskeletal programs for various staff groups preferred
  • Excellent command of English language and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is essential
  • Should be able to utilize IT/technology effectively, for e.g. Microsoft Office, online learning platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for health and wellness with a desire to empower others
  • Strong management and coaching skills
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual fluency would be a plus
  • Awareness of the foundational principles of lifestyle medicine would be an advantage
