The Senior Manager Transformation & Process Excellence will be responsible to provide advice, processes and tool set to facilitate transformations required by the business. You will lead team of managers dedicated to identifying, leading and delivering transformation projects as part of the end to end process reviews of Technical and interact with senior leaders of the company including C-suite, SVPs and VPs to manage their portfolio of transformational initiatives and projects. One of the key aspects is to introduce the process improvement and Lean best practices, culture change, tools and methodology to the initiatives and projects ensuring a standard process is applied

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a Strategic Transformation Business Partner for Senior Leaders and stakeholders, support the Senior Leaders to manage their portfolio of transformation initiatives and projects (i.e. as part of the DSP VISION Roadmap). Provides guidance and counsel in the development of long term and short term plans involving strategic development, resource allocation, work plans, timelines, and financial outcomes.
  • Provide support to Senior Management in reviewing business plans, proposals, and schedules to determine proper procedures in order to accomplish transformation goals. Identify and facilitate opportunities for dashboards, process mapping, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), baselines and challenging targets, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation process of transformation projects across the company, which will include responsibility for the management system and process design decisions, implementation planning and support of change management activities. Responsible for ensuring regulatory/internal governance and risk mitigation/management of each project pre and post-delivery. Provide strategic guidance and direction to ensure business needs are met and the company systems, processes and people development and involvement will enable the go-to-market strategy of each business.
  • Drive the setup of Technical Policies & Procedures function, putting in place the right governance and running the day to day responsibilities. Responsible to provide guidance on the Technical wide policies and procedures with alignment to the lean improvement initiatives
  • Develop short-term strategies primarily but not limited to Continuous Improvement strategies. Provide expertise on operational and internal process mapping. Identify operational and financial risks, score them and facilitate workshops to mitigate risks.
  • Identify lean opportunities with initial scoping and then constantly apply Lean Philosophy Methods, problem solving analysis to monitor processes. Train any level of employee of the whole Qatar Airways Group in Lean thinking principles and tools to support the Culture Change by delivering projects; coach and mentor them during the entire journey.
  • Effectively manage the implementation of business transformation programme and monitor its progress, resolve issues and initiate appropriate corrective action to ensure end-to-end process improvement implementation across departments.
  • Lead at least one Large Scale project per year: projects including but not limited to cost optimization, customer experience, operational excellence in any vertical line or any subsidiary.
  • Supports the alignment against the DSP VISION Roadmap, implementing appropriate processes and metrics to monitor progress of the Transformation roadmap.
  • Driving key insights from a project governance perspective to inform executive leadership. Program management for complex work-scope projects, identifying and scheduling project deliverables, establishing milestones, and driving execution of transformation. Focus on aligning systems, processes, and governance by leveraging external insights to drive best practices in digitization and governance for the Company.
  • Raising the bar on the reporting, knowledge management, communications across the business and apply tools and processes to implement lean methodology and design thinking across the organization.

Qualifications

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • High School / Vocational Qualification with Minimum 12 years of job-related experience; OR
  • Bachelor Degree with Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
  • Demonstrated practical and strategic leadership experience in a Lean and continuous improvement culture
  • Professional experience with exposure to a culture of continuous improvement and ability to work at all levels across the organization
  • Lean certification would be an advantage
  • Experience implementing large scale initiatives and tracking results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; Ability to recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples
  • Strong understanding of business process mapping; application of these principles to solving complex business problems
  • Proven track record of setting direction, leading large scale projects and engaging teams

  • Strong understanding of End to End business improvements
