The Research Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive support to senior research staff, focusing on the integration of interactive systems and digital fabrication in architectural and robotic applications. They contribute to the entire research lifecycle, from data gathering, analysis, and interpretation to project planning, literature review, and proposal writing, with a focus on programming the system. This role also involves conducting interviews and surveys, producing reports, and presenting research findings. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pushes the boundaries of interactive systems by programming innovative robotic systems to focuses on developing scalable and adaptable solutions, ensuring the system can perform effectively in diverse environments and scenarios.
  • Spearheads the development of innovative approaches to elevate interactive environments and human-space interactions. This role involves investigating emerging technologies and methodologies, designing and piloting novel interaction frameworks, and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to drive progress in interactive system and utilizing diverse expertise to conceive, develop, and execute innovative interactive solutions that expand the frontiers of the field.
  • Communicates research findings effectively by documenting them in high-quality publications and delivering compelling presentations.
  • Leads research endeavors in the integration of interactive systems, delving into innovative applications and advancements at the cutting edge of the field.
  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to design, prototype, and analyze innovative systems.
  • Gathers and analyzes data using various techniques, employing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintains meticulous research records and ensures data accuracy.
  • Prepares research materials, including reports, presentations, and grant proposals.
  • Assists with writing research papers, including research design and methodology, literature review, data collection, conducting surveys and experiments, analysis, and evaluations.
  • Assists in the advancement of pioneering design methodologies and digital technologies to enhance the efficiency of fabrication processes.
  • Performs all other duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Interactive Architecture, Interactive Art, Architectural Robotics, Architecture, Art, Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related field from an accredited institute, along with a minimum of four years’ experience in research or related fields, with one to two published journal articles.
