Description
Roles and Responsibilities: • To ensure Company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe manner, avoiding any impact to the environment and in full compliance with contractual and company HSE requirements. • Liaises with clients for HSE related matters, and for periodic safety drills being conducted by vessels and act as Site safety representative for the Client. • Acts as a leader for the Berthing assistants and the Mooring team members and addresses all their HSE & operational concerns. • Ensures that company PTW system is implemented on all the vessels • Liaise with vessel Master and crew to establish positive communication between vessel and shore staff promoting safety and wellbeing of all personnel on board company vessels. • Ensure that the vessels Master and Crew and the berthing team get proper “on the job†training and all crew are given safety induction at start of their contract. • Ensure that the Videotel safety trainings are properly administered for all the vessel staff and mooring gang. • Conduct RA and TBT awareness training and run programs to raise safety awareness among all crew and report any safety concerns to the management. Conduct frequent drills and training for the crew to enhance their emergency preparedness. • Conduct Monthly Safety meetings with Port Captain and Mooring crew and record/ action the items raised. Assists Port Captain with HSE port operations related matters. • Ensures that all navigation and communication equipment on small boats is well maintained and in good working order. • Check daily activity report and defects on the vessels and ensures their timely completion. • Assist Port Captain in the implementation of departmental processes to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and any other standards and requirements • Implement and actively enforce compliance to work processes to ensure the health and safety of employees and the protection of the environment. • Co-ordinates with shore staff for crew welfare, living conditions in the camp, work/rest hours and crew relief. • Maintains crew discipline and bring any matters of concern to the Port Captain. • Do random Health and Hygiene inspections on mooring boats and camp accommodation to ensure that the highest standards are always maintained on board.
Qualifications
Behavioral Skills, Knowledge, and Experiences: Education & Professional Qualification: Bachelor in Health Safety or Occupational HSE Professional Experience: 3-5 years experience at Supervisory level in the Offshore or Harbour support services Geographic Experience: India, Qatar or GCC experience preferred Computer and Language Skills: Should be well versed with MS office and web applications Market / Industry /Functional Knowledge: Must be well versed with Regional Port authority requirements Related Professional Training, Certification, or Membership Mandatory: HSE qualifications with experience in Marine industry Preferred: 2nd Officer certificate for vessels
