ENOWA plans to utilize various technologies, including large-scale solar PV, wind power, pump hydro-station, geothermal energy, and clean-fuel gas turbines – as an integrated decentralized solution to meet the increased electricity demands due to a high degree of electrification. 

The candidate will work on projects involving these technologies and various execution strategies, with construction starting in August 2024 and continuing through 2030.

Expectations

The Quality Lead is responsible to ensure that the Project Quality Management system is implemented and monitored in accordance with the ENOWA Project Quality requirements. To ensure that the Project Quality Management System activities are implemented at Package level. To monitor the performance of the Contractors and Subcontractors in achieving the Project Quality Requirements. Coordinating the Quality Control Activities. The Quality Lead Engineer has a Hierarchical Link to the Project Manager and a Functional Link to the ENOWA Generation Quality Manager.

Approaches

  • The Quality Lead leads the effort to oversee the development of Contractor’s/Subcontractors quality plans and procedures in accordance with the Contract and Project specifications.
  • Ensure all project documentation, including contracts and technical specifications, meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor Contractors Project quality system and shall be responsible of achieving quality objectives and policies.
  • Managing Project phases in effective and efficient manner from date of awarding till Project handover.
  • Inform the ENOWA Generation Quality Manager of the need to revise existing or develop new Management System Documents (Plans, Procedures and Work Instructions).
  • Coordination of Project QA/QC activities to ensure that Contractor Quality activities are planned and carried out in accordance with Project requirements and Criticality Assessment/Surveillance Plan.
  • Assist in anticipating and planning of Project QC resources to meet Project Quality needs.
  • Provide assistance to the ENOWA Generation Quality Manager in implementing the Project Audit Programme to cover Surveillance audit activities during all Project phases.
  • Review and approve the Quality Documentation issued by the Contractor and Suppliers (Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans, Procedures, etc…)
  • Review inspection reports and records of quality control carried out by Contractor on completed and running purchase orders. Assess adequacy and competence of Contractor Quality Organization at the engineering, construction, testing, installation and commissioning phases to assure that the applicable quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Follow-up and tracking of the Correctives Action Requests (CARs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Arrange and manage Project QC Activities at Contractor supplier sites, overseeing execution Contractor QA and QC activity and performing direct interventions where received. Ensure that Project QC coverage is sufficient and that the Inspectors are of the required discipline, experience and capability.
  • Review Inspectors deliverables, analyse and resolve issues and problems emerging during the quality control activity.
  • Review, comment and approve Contractor QA/QC Documentation/Dossiers for correctness and conformity prior to a structured handover to commissioning team (validate manufacturing records, Manufacturing Record Books etc..).
  • Perform periodic Quality Management System Audit or Process Audit of Contractor and Key Suppliers.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and coordinate third-party inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Participate in Contractor investigations of significant Quality failures and offshore/installation failures.
  • Assist ENOWA Generation Quality Manager in implementing the continual improvement processes, (Lessons Learned, Customer Satisfaction)
  • Lead regular (quarterly or bi-annual) Quality reviews with Contractor to review quality KPI’S, quality improvement efforts, quality issues/failures, NCR trends etc.
  • Provide weekly & monthly status reports to Project Manager and ENOWA Generation Quality Manager on quality activities, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Corrective Actions including Notes/Findings from any Verification Activities (procedures review, shop visits, etc…)
  • Develop and deliver training programs on quality assurance and project control practices for project staff, ensuring consistent understanding and application across teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to project quality and controls, fostering effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project controls and quality assurance teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Ensure high-level project execution with strict adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Efficient management of project controls and quality assurance processes, driving continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Successful mitigation of project risks and timely resolution of project issues to minimize impact on project deliverables.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or ENOWA approved equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Advanced certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or quality assurance (e.g., CQM) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality management, with substantial leadership experience in managing large-scale projects in the energy sector or related industries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management principles, quality assurance practices, and project controls methodologies.
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven experience in leading teams and managing large-scale projects.
  • High proficiency in quality control tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and metrics.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting, team collaboration, and stakeholder management.
