Marketing and Communications Officer – Qatar Airways

 

To be the key liaison between all sections in the MATAR Marketing and Communications department and to contribute to the planning, scheduling, execution of departments projects in an effective and efficient manner in line with established guidelines and policies.  Implement short- and long-term company’s goals by working closely with all company departments, subsidiaries and relevant external stakeholders.  Provide a range of logistical and organisational support to the Marketing and Corporate Communications Management as well as briefing MATARs executive management through reports, memos and meetings.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Line Manager to identify beneficial marketing and PR campaigns and events collaboration opportunities in relation to HIA’s latest services, facilities by liaising closely with all company departments, QRG subsidiaries and external stakeholders to enhance company’s brand image.
  • Assisting in drafting, researching and proofreading content for publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other Marketing and PR material that communicates the organization’s latest achievements, new services, facilities and activities to maintain ongoing external communication and generate new stories for media.  (content generation).

Initiate and maintain relations with local, regional and global media outlets by maintaining continuous communications and sending out PR material like press kits and pitches on regular basis to generate positive coverage about the company’s latest news.  (Media relations management).

Conduct daily media monitoring online and print media in regards to aviation industry, competitor airports and airlines, areas of specific interest to the company like technology, safety and security, processes and services, customer services research will be conducted through online searches, subscription to relevant newsletters and specialized search engine algorithms.  Ensure that the research and relevant stories are communicated to the department and MATAR executive management.

As an active member of the airport’s Crisis Communications team, responsible to draft statements, conduct crisis media monitoring and respond to media enquiries.

  • Assist in planning for logistics towards company organized events, exhibitions and conferences by attending site visits, preparation and creation of invitation content, guest list, guest relation.   Brief executive management about company organized and external events by providing the latest event flow, VIP and WIP attendees list and creating guests profile briefs so that management are informed of all details of the event.
  • Assist in conducting a post-event and campaign debriefing by speaking to all parties involved for feedback, to provide an assessment of what went well and what needs to be improved, in order to overcome problems and assure future progress. Get feedback on the effectiveness of Events/Campaigns through social media reach, media coverage and value generated.
  • Ensure the formation of effective working groups between internal and external stakeholders who are ultimately responsible for the project’s success and maintain regular group meetings and communications to ensure effect stakeholders collaboration and achieve HIA’s overall corporate goals and vision.
  • Draft official communication from Vice President Office to executive management through memos, emails and receive approvals on time by ensuring campaigns are planned effectively and run efficiently, the scope of work is defined and reviewed by all department sections and relevant details such as budget, stakeholder’s coordination, resource allocation, feasibility of projects and timelines are included.

Qualifications

About you:

Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of job-related experience.
