Aldar Training Academy is currently seeking a Manager – Primary & EYFS (ATA) to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. This role is based in HQ within the Aldar Training Academy team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the highly successful Aldar Education family of schools and to help shape the future of Abu Dhabi’s leading school group. The successful candidate will combine an excellent track record of outstanding teaching practice and pedagogy and an ability to inspire and develop others.
The ideal candidate may be or have been, a middle, senior leader or similar role and possess exceptional communication skills combined with a deep understanding of the needs of schools to develop curriculum models to meet the needs of all learners. The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the core values and ethos of Aldar Education and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region.
The Manager – ATA Primary & EYFS needs to embody the values, vision and ethos of Aldar Education and to assist the ATA team in delivering policy, training and development which in turn will ensure high quality and successful outcomes for all teaching programmes, especially Primary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties:
- To support ATA and the team in achieving the key teaching and learning objectives for individual schools within the network through developing a high-quality review system that identifies schools’ strengths and areas for development.
- To support the ATA team in achieving the key business and training objectives of Aldar Training Academy.
- To support the identification of individual school and group wide support requirements especially in EYFS and Primary.
- To support the ATA team in the monitoring, evaluation and continuous review of the quality and effectiveness of all educational EYFS and Primary CPD delivery in particular teaching and learning, the curriculum, counselling and guidance and wellbeing programmes in all schools.
- To support the identification of best practice and practitioners in EYFS and Primary from across the network and work alongside the Learning Networks to provide individual school support where necessary.
- To develop Aldar Training Academy (ATA) internal and external professional development programmes and ensure that ATA meets the company aims and objectives.
- To promote ATA and raise its profile in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
- To model the values and vision of Aldar Education.
- To be a role model to staff and students.
- To have high expectations of all staff and students.
- Identify professional development needs of those you line manage or work with and address with CPD.
- To undertake and carry out any other such comparable duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as required by your Line Manager, Academic Director and /or the Directors of Education as they occur.
- To lead by example to maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times.
Specific Duties
School Review:
- To support the ATA review team with the internal Aldar Education review process.
- To be a team reviewer responsible for making accurate lesson judgements, conducting stakeholder meetings and writing clear, concise and accurate reports.
- To support the ATA review team with the identification of suitable staff to take part in school reviews.
- To support the ATA review team with the development of a dynamic support network from staff across all Aldar schools to provide support in key areas identified for development.
- To support the ATA review team with the planning, organisation, and monitoring of the quality of support put in place for schools and take appropriate intervention actions when required.
- To support the Senior Manager and Academic Director with reviewing and quality assuring the work of the ATA team and AE group.
- Research latest approaches to school improvement and evaluate how these may improve the practice of Aldar Education schools.
Continuous Professional Development:
- To create, develop and support the team with the generation of extremely high-quality EYFS and Primary CPD programmes for Aldar Training Academy (ATA), Aldar Education and external customers in order to provide the highest quality training.
- To be able to effectively deliver high-quality CPD workshops in EYFS and Primary education to Aldar Education staff, HQ and external customers as necessary.
- To work with the ATA team to provide staff training on EYFS and Primary educational matters.
- Provide and develop learning tools and resources for ATA, AE and external customers where necessary.
- To act as a source of support, advice and expertise to staff on EYFS and Primary educational training and development. Producing educational materials to support schools where necessary.
- Provide critical feedback and support with the ATA team to schools on educational matters as directed by the Academic Director.
- To work with the ATA team to provide support to Executive Management on document and bid preparation materials for new projects pertaining to educational matters.
- To maintain and update knowledge and skills in line with legislation and the needs of the role.
- To attend Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training as required.
- To undertake any additional training highlighted by the ATA team as part of the performance development process.
- Support the ATA team with the development of networks to share best practices.
School Improvement:
- To work as part of the wider school improvement team at Head Quarters (HQ) to enhance EYFS and Primary provision in schools and ensure that pedagogical practice provides all learners with dynamic and innovative learning opportunities.
- To keep up to date with the latest educational research in particular teaching and learning strategies and disseminate across ATA and AE.
- To gain insight, promote and improve the work of ATA teams across the group.
- To support the wider education and ATA team in meeting group strategic aims.
- To participate in the Aldar Education continuous performance review (appraisal) scheme and work towards achieving and or exceeding of targets set.
- To co-create, develop and deliver staff training on educational matters and ensure that all education courses are operated to the highest standards.
- To develop and deliver training programmes and distance learning solutions for Aldar Education and external partners of ATA and AE as necessary.
- To work alongside school and HQ teams to develop and deliver appropriate training programmes and to cascade this across the group.
- To co-create, develop and deliver online learning solutions for educational courses.
- To act as a source of support, advice and expertise to staff on education training and development.
- Research latest course and training ideas and disseminate across AE and ATA.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc, BA, BEd)
- Teaching Qualification e.g., PGCE/BA in Education
Minimum Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Middle or Senior Manager/Leader within a school setting and or the education sector.
