Your day to day
Requires supervisory skills must be willing to “pitch-in†and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
Enjoys working in a fast paced environment
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 200 pounds
Frequently standing up and moving about the facility.
Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling.
Requires working knowledge of Housekeeping and the hotel’s services, policies and operations. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.
Computer skills and working knowledge of Opera , Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic mathematical skills are used occasionally
Professional, positive, motivated and upbeat attitude
Work with your Manager to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive.
Assisting with appraising performance of associates within the housekeeping department.
To assist in preparing the agenda for departmental meetings and follow up all points raised.
Conduct on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff member.
Provide input for performance review discussions in line with company guidelines.
Assist with the preparation of efficient departmental work schedules.
Coach and counsel staff in breach of hotel policies and departmental procedures, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
In the absence of your Manager, conduct effective staff briefings to communicate guest requirements and shift priorities.
Gain understanding of the departmental goals and financial targets and support your Manager to achieve these targets.
•Demonstrate full knowledge of fire prevention training & ensure your subordinates & you follow the duties upon hearing the alarm.
•Recycle where-ever possible and enforce cost saving measures where appropriate.
•Creates the schedules for the deep cleaning.
•Does daily room inspection.
•Allocating staffs appropriately.
•Creates daily roster for the staffs.
•Responsible in doing the linen inventory monthly.
•Responsible for housekeeping supplies, maintaining the par level.
What we need from you
Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.
Literate – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths.
Flexible – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
Articulate – a great communicator, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.
