Data Engineer (KSA)

The ideal candidate must be able to work with large dataset with a strong experience using a variety of data analysis & ETL approaches (familiar with some technology providers and solutions in the market), using a variety of data tools, building, and understanding Data models, developing ETL pipelines for business data to be ultimately visualized for decision support. Must have the technical capabilities which allow him / her to extract / ingest the data from various sources, transform the data, and develop dashboards reflecting the required KPIs. 

The candidate must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. 

Your new role, what’s involved?

• Translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Design, build and maintain charts, dashboards and KPIs.
• Communicate with data warehousing & BI storage tools (e.g. OLAP cubes – self-service analytics) to get the data for visualization.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting.
• Develop and execute SQL database queries and conduct analysis.
• Work with different data format, structured, semi-structured and geospatial.
• Data cleansing and normalization
• Integrate data from multiple data sources in one dashboard.
• Create high quality design dashboards (visuals)

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in data visualization and data engineering role
• Experience with common BI technologies such as Power BI and Tableau
• Deep understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP for self-service analytics) and ETL process.
• Experience and thorough understanding of data warehouse design and dimensional modelling.
• Ability to design & build data models from scratch.
• Experience in Microsoft stack such as SSIS and SSAS is essential.
• Deep knowledge & hands-on experience in SQL
• Any certificate(s) in the same field is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, engineering, or similar fields
• Fluent in English & Arabic

Certification (as a plus):

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineering
• DA-100: Analyzing data with Microsoft Power BI

Tools & Solutions Familiarity:

• Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS (to show familiarity dealing with a data pipeline and ETL)
• Hands-on experience and knowledge in Microsoft OLAP & self-service analytics
• Power BI, Tableau, Qlik (Data Visualization knowledge)
• Informatica ETL, Axon, EDC etc. (or similar solutions like Collibra) (familiarity in Data Management platforms)
