Job Purpose
Produce specialist procurement expert knowledge to achieve procurement activities, resolve critical/complex issues, identify and implement long term business improvements.
Key Job Accountabilities – I
- Advise and formulate recommendations for complex purchasing and sensitive issues to ensure the most appropriate action is taken.
- Produce professional procurement expertise to achieve complex and critical purchasing activities such as shutdowns, plant emergencies and ensure quality, cost and time targets.
- Recommend effective procurement strategies and review technical specification for major and critical purchases regarding specific commodities such as mechanical, electrical, instrument, chemicals, etc.
- Recommend and implement internal or cross-functional procedures and processes improvements that support the achievement of business and professional objectives such as efficiency and cost saving.
Key Job Accountabilities – II
- Analyse and evaluate supplier’s performances, meet with their key focal points, and recommend enhancement opportunities.
- Establish ethical relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the most cost effective solutions.
- Develop strategies to negotiate prices, terms & conditions, and delivery, as applicable, to satisfy Company business requirements and targeted savings.
- Establish commercial commitments between Company and suppliers to procure required materials up to a value according to the Table of Financial Authority (TOFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science, Commercial discipline or other relevant degree.
Knowledge and/or Experience – I
8 years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement environment within the oil and gas industry
