- BIM Coordinator assists the BIM Specialist in coordination and execution of BIM projects. He coordinates data sets / workflows within the project setup and communicates effectively and offers cross-team support. Setup linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
- Assist the BIM Specialist in the BIM delivery for Project(s) within the Department
- Manage key stakeholder interfaces to ensure successful delivery of various outcomes across the Project(s) and Program
- Coordinate BIM Technicians for a project within the Department
- Establish project controls and reporting and ensure timely delivery of Project(s) to time, cost, and quality
- Coordinate project teams in BIM project set up and ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
About this role
- Execute BIM workflow and ensuring that any potential issues during modelling, clash detection and data conversion is dealt with efficiently.
- Setup project-specific guidelines for BIM Technicians, and responsible for linking information across disciplines
- Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team
- Manage and maintain project content and source any additional content as required
- Assigning information requirements to stakeholders and supporting the BIM Specialist activities
- Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams
- Communicate effectively and offer support across project teams
- Coordinate production and reviews of information models across disciplines
- Information model quantity extraction and verification
- Perform 4D construction sequencing / simulation using Autodesk Navisworks or Synchro
- Assist staff in the department and provide technical support
- Ensure that the design standards align with CAD / BIM / GIS strategy and link appropriately with the wider business
- Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally
- Assist in monitoring and reporting BIM implementation within the Department
- Coordinate and align with the Corporate BIM team in PWA
What you need to bring:
- University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in architecture or civil engineering on major buildings and/or infrastructure (roads, drainage) projects
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in BIM projects and software like (e.g., Revit/ Civil3D, Navisworks, Solibri, Synchro)
- Arabic language skills
- Driver’s License
- Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region.
- In-depth knowledge of BIM procedures with good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications
- Technically proficient in all aspects of BIM and interfacing and interpreting in engineering requirements
- Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures, both internally and with various project stakeholders
- Knowledge of using information models for measurement, construction scheduling, cost management is desirable
- Demonstrable expertise in creation, analysis, and simulation of information models, within the project delivery and asset operation lifecycle
- Advanced skills in software supporting the creation, analysis, simulation e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks
- Knowledge in software for automation of routines to support standards and improve productivity like Synchro, CATO / Cost X, Solibri, Infraworks, Dynamo is desirable
- Expertise in clash detection and coordination of all services per design standards
- Experience in model-based drawing production
- Knowledge of 3D rendering and visualization
- Knowledge of COBie specification and ability to export files from models
