The Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive support for the bank’s core banking requirements, technology projects, and various bank applications. This role will be engaged with cross-functional teams to deliver the bank’s key initiatives and regulatory projects, while also administrating local applications and managing costs and technology contracts effectively. The job holder will be also supporting the technology and business continuity planning activities.

 

In this role, you will:

–          Assist in the analysis and resolution of issues related to the bank’s core banking systems and country specific applications.

–          System administration and user access Management of the Country specific applications.

–          Provide user support and training for applications.

–          Maintain and update application documentation and knowledge base.

–          Interaction with regulators & authorities to coordinate deployments, testing, investigation, and other related matters.

–          Engagement with Third Party Suppliers who support the Country specific applications used by HSBC.

–          Submission of routine regulatory reports related to system availability, incidents to the regulators and handling associated queries.

–          Communicate with external regulators on periodic maintenance, outages, etc.

–          Assist in the planning, implementation, and testing of bank services and applications.

–          Provide subject matter expertise and technical support during project execution

–          Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met

–          Support effective cost management associated with technology solutions and services, and vendor related expenses.

–          Ensuring that services provided by third party suppliers are maintained through routine engagement.

–          Assist in budgeting and financial reporting for technology-related initiatives.

–          Supporting and facilitating the requirements as part of any audit or internal and external assessments

–          Work closely with business, GBGF IT teams, and other teams to deliver the bank’s strategic initiatives.

–          Participate in the planning and execution of regulatory projects.

–          Contribute to the development of procedures, and best practices.

–          Assist in the development and implementation of business continuity plans

–          Ensure the readiness and effectiveness of disaster recovery procedures

–          Provide support during crisis situations and business continuity events

 

 

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

 

–          3-5 years of experience in an application support or technology analyst role, preferably in the banking industry

–          Good knowledge of banking processes, systems, and operations

–          Excellent knowledge of project management and business continuity coordination

–          Strong understanding of core banking systems, applications, and technologies

–          Good knowledge in project management, problem-solving skills, and vendor management

–          Familiarity with cost management and contract processes and third-party management

–          Experience in business continuity planning and execution

–          Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

–          Solid Knowledge of governance and control frameworks

–          Good Knowledge and understanding of technology risks with the ability to interpret technology risk findings
