Senior Technician- Heavy Equipment

Job Description:

The Senior Technician provides leadership, expertise, and guidance to a team of mechanics, overseeing the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery to ensure equipment is kept in excellent working condition. This role involves managing team performance, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating work schedules, and maintaining high operational standards to help the organization’s operations run smoothly.

• Equipment Maintenance: The senior Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly. They must have a thorough understanding of the mechanical and electrical systems of the equipment and be able to diagnose and repair any problems that arise.
• Inspection and Testing: The senior Technician must inspect equipment to identify potential problems and perform testing to ensure that the equipment is operating safely and efficiently. They may also perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, filters, and other components.
• Team Management: The senior technician may be responsible for managing a team of mechanics, including delegating tasks and overseeing their work to ensure that it meets safety and quality standards.
• Documentation: The senior technician must keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs, including work orders, inspection reports, and other documentation required by regulatory agencies.
• Troubleshooting: The senior technician must be able to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems, using their knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Safety: The senior technician must adhere to safety guidelines and ensure that all work are performed safely. They may also be responsible for training other mechanics on safety procedures and best practices.
• Overall, the job scope of a senior technician is to ensure that ENGINES, TRANSMISSION, and heavy equipment are in good working order, functioning safely and efficiently, and meeting industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Trade certificate from vocational training school or Industrial Training institutes in automobile/mechanical systems. These programs can range from a few months to a year or more and cover topics such as electrical theory, wiring diagrams, circuit testing, and diagnostic techniques.
• 5-10 Years of experience working with automobiles and construction equipment.
• Must be experienced in Heavy Earth Moving machinery repairs.
