Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural / Bridge Design Engineer – I to join our team! In this role you will get to produce design drawings, calculations reports and specifications.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Detailed structural design of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
- Produce design drawings, calculations reports and specifications.
- Supervise other engineers and CAD team as per project task assigned.
- May supervise subordinates and provide input regarding performance. Provides technical guidance to younger engineers.
- Ability to utilize standard engineering principles, techniques and analyses to complete conventional, moderately complex assignments within the structure discipline.
- Working knowledge of engineering software packages associated with the structures discipline.
- Track the progress of the assigned design and report to the Senior and Principal Engineers of the status and any issues that may arise during the design development.
- Support other engineering activities as required by the senior and principal engineer.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Be self-motivated and require minor supervision on committed tasks.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering and 3+ years of related work experience. Work experience must be related to HANDS-ON DESIGN of structures.
- Intimate knowledge of the following software: Midas Civil, CSi bridge, SAP2000, Structural bridge Design (Auto Desk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon.
- Intimate knowledge of the following design codes: British Standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Ashghal IAN 009 and other structural design related Interim Advice Notes.
- Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally on technical and non-technical subjects.
- Minimal interfaces with Clients but provides inputs to others working on the same project.
- Must be MME registered.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
- Possession of internationally recognized engineering licenses such as PE, SE, and CEng is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Revit software.
- Native-level English speaking and writing skills
