Role profile:

The individual in this role will manage the Planning, Monitoring & Controls (PM&C) processes of a small project, or a part of a larger, more complex project. You will lead a small team of professionals being responsible for managing delivery, performance and providing support to their development.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the PM&C processes on a small project or a work package of a larger project.
  • Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project.
  • Apply appropriate PM&C methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile).
  • Agree PM&C approach with stakeholders, and prepare realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and track activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Provide effective leadership to the delivery team and suppliers, and take appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the client and have day to day accountability for the services and solutions being provided.
  • Manage internal stakeholders, presenting project progress and financial information on a monthly basis, and following LCM processes (and assurance) where required.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal IT support and issues for the UAE team. Work closely with external IT contractors to support the team in their day to day roles.
  • Guide and coach junior project members, assisting with their development.

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • Good understanding of the structure, organisation, processes and culture, to be able to support implementation of appropriate PM&C approaches.
  • Ability to apply problem solving techniques to situations of moderate complexity in the field of PM&C, taking requirements and data from internal and external sources.
  • Ability to gather information and use this to develop solutions and implementation approaches.
  • Ability to capture, adopt and share good practice.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how teams and projects integrate in order to achieve objectives.
  • Business oriented attitude, highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Organised individual with the ability to present and articulate in a logical, concise manner.

 

Would be a plus:

  • APM PMQ certified
  • Experience working in Middle East
