TS Systems Engineer – IIS Administrator

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible to manage & support Qatar Airways large Middleware platform servers deployed in On-premises virtualization and cloud infrastructure services. You are expected to maintain various application environments deployed on conventional and modern platforms. Also, you will be responsible for delivering self-service workflows for all dev teams with observability, security & automation. You will be working with various lines of business & third parties to implement platform technologies tailored to meet application’s non-functional requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing & maintaining IIS servers and related infrastructure
• Implement web server configurations, secure settings, SSL certificates and application pools
• Ensure compliance with best practices and security standards
• Work on patch management, server upgrades and migrations
• Monitor server health, performance and logs & ensure high availability and reliability of web services.
• Analyze and resolve application-level issues using open source and APM tools.
• Provide technical support for IIS-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving incidents
• Collaborate with network and security teams to maintain a secure environment.
• Work on performance tuning and scaling of web servers across hybrid cloud environments.
• Empower developers with self-service tools and predefined workflows for continuous delivery of applications
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts and tools.
• Ensure adherence to incident, problem and change management processes
• Provide support in planning, coordinating, and executing disaster recovery exercises to ensure business continuity across all critical systems.

Qualifications

About you

• Proficient in Windows Operating system with OS troubleshooting skills & supporting .Net applications running on IIS platform.
• Must have minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in supporting following roles.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator would be a plus.
• In-depth knowledge and good understanding of cloud concepts such as networking, key vaults, storage, RBAC, policies and more.
• Expertise in configuring fault-tolerant database connections & encrypting sensitive DB credentials
• Knowledge in advance network configurations for Load balancing, Firewall policies & DNS settings
• Experience in providing 24/7 production support for critical systems.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and adapt to changing priorities.
• Passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Good planning and organizational skills, capable of completing tasks in time.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

• Certification on ITILv3 Foundation.
• Certification in Azure Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with any other middleware platforms.
