ENOWA plans to utilize various technologies, including large-scale solar PV, wind power, pump hydro-station, geothermal energy, and clean-fuel gas turbines – as an integrated decentralized solution to meet the increased electricity demands due to a high degree of electrification. 

The candidate will work on projects involving these technologies and various execution strategies, with construction starting in August 2024 and continuing through 2030.

Expectations

The Construction Supervisor for Excavation will oversee all excavation activities at the Nestor Pumped Hydro Storage project site. This role ensures that activities are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with technical specifications.

Approach

  • Supervise all excavation activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other supervisors to align excavation works with overall project plans.
  • Monitor site conditions and adjust plans as necessary to deal with unforeseen issues.
  • Manage and lead a team of operators and laborers, ensuring efficient task allocation and work performance.
  • Maintain records of excavation activities, including volumes, schedules, and equipment usage.
  • Ensure maintenance of excavation equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct safety inspections and enforce strict safety regulations.
  • Report on progress and any issues to the Construction Manager.
  • Resolve conflicts or issues among crew members and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the estimation and ordering of required materials and equipment.

Experience and Skills

  • Extensive experience in supervising large-scale excavation projects.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of excavation procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 5 years specifically in excavation operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of excavation techniques, soil mechanics, and equipment.
  • Associate degree or diploma in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Additional certifications in site management or excavation work are beneficial.
