As a Storekeeper you will be responsible to assist in receiving shipments, storing, picking and supplying stock items, consumables, display materials and furniture as per the day to day business requirements. Operating Material Handling Equipment as required and as authorized and in line with the training provided. Participating in quarterly and Perpetual Stock Takes as required by the business. Inspects all inventory items during the receipt and picking process and report any issues to the shift Supervisor/Officer on duty. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the QDF Warehouse stock holdings at all times and is also responsible for ensuring a safe work environment in all areas of Distribution Centre.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists in checking all stocks received into and going out of the stores to ensure accurate records are kept in securing the company’s assets.
  • Assists in supplying to all locations, as and when requested, with the necessary stocks to aid in maximizing sales, while minimizing disruption to the operational location.
  • Assists in organizing the warehouse so that stocks are stored in the correct manner and that they are easily accessible for picking for supplying to the shops
  • Assists in implementing all guidelines in relation to Health and Safety, and immediately report any accidents or breaches of Health & Safety rules to provide a safe working environment.
  • Assists in maintaining the warehouse and specifically the allocated section in a clean and tidy fashion, thereby keeping the stocks in saleable condition.
  • Assists in carrying out regular stock-checks as well as those of the authorized stock counts, on a regular basis, to provide accurate records and to identify any stock issues quickly, while also minimizing any potential losses.
  • Communicates with his / her team mates, supervisors, data entry, buyers, merchandisers etc. in a timely manner so as to smoothen the operations.
  • Stores special stock items requiring treatment which may deviate from established storekeeping methods in assigning space and identification.
  • Assists in verifying stocks against shipping authorizations for agreement as to quantities, descriptions, sizes, conditions and conformance to purchase order
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

About You:

  • HIgh School Qualification with minimum 1 year of job related experience OR
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with no prior job related work experience
  • Operating warehouse equipment such as order picker, pallet stacker, pallet jacks etc.
  • Knowledge of storeroom methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of the characteristics, used and proper handling/storage techniques of items supplued
  • Organizational skills along with basic mathematics
  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written communication
  • Ability to prepare and maintain stock records, reports and inventories
  • Ability to communicate effectively with storekeepers and supervisors
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to provide functional supervision
  • Ability to work with computerized inventory control
