Job Purpose

To manage customer support as per customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provides overall on-site leadership for the successful installation, checkout, and startup of system projects and/or the resolution of system performance problems.
  • May perform preventative and remedial maintenance on non-Invensys instruments, and/or systems.
  • Provides leadership in the staging FAT portions of the project as assigned by manager.
  • Understands in detail Invensys contractual responsibilities as detailed in the Engineering Transfer Report.
  • Responsible for the technical and commercial success of the Field Service responsibilities on systems projects.
  • Meets with customers to detail startup and/or problem resolution plans before on-site work is begun, during the on-site work, and after work has been completed.
  • Directs the activities of other on-site Invensys personnel in the resolution of system problems and/or the startup and commissioning efforts.
  • Submits weekly reports to Service and/or Engineering management regarding startup efforts, punch list items, assistance required from management and/or the resolution of system level problems.
  • Provides a high order of troubleshooting and consultation support to field personnel on complex systems problems within his or her field of specialization.
  • As required provides expert technical support in the areas of: DOS, Venix/Unix or Invensys specified Operation System,
  • Configuration software, Programming languages, relational database programs, communication protocols, hardware installation & startup, test equipment, process control & applications, gas chromatograph, boiler control systems, analytical products & applications, software installation, power & grounding techniques, system utilities.
  • Assists customers in modifying control systems to resolve process operation problems.
  • Provides on-the-job training in the field of his or her expertise to Invensys Field Service personnel.
  • Assists in the selling of Commissioning Services and Service Contracts to customers.
  • Provides Sales Representatives with client information regarding the sale of future Invensys solutions.
  • Submits WTL, FSR, and TEV on a weekly basis. All written paperwork must agree with call closeouts given to the dispatcher

Qualification and Experience

  • A Degree in Engineering Field.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in the Maintenance/Startup of Control System.

Essential

  • Have the spirit working with others, and building team works.
  • Control system and maintenance concepts.
  • Good understanding of basic Instrumentation

Skills

Essential

  • Knowledge of IT basics and Microsoft Applications.
  • Maintenance and safety standards.
  • Any control system knowledge.
