Job Purpose:
Directs and administers the health program of the company. Promotes and maintains employee’s health and works for protecting employees from adverse environmental hazards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Recognize and identify IH agents / exposures such as chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial stressors, from the employees’ work environment such as areas, tasks, jobs, processes.
- Create different exposure groups, in order to develop sampling plans.
- Conduct IH sampling for each group of exposures.
- Analyze results and evaluate / quantify exposure levels.
- Compare actual levels with accepted standard levels.
- Communicate results with stakeholders and discuss mitigation plans.
- Develop control plan (Substitution, Elimination, Engineering, Administrative, PPE etc. Implement controls.
- Develop plans for maintaining the controls and implement them.
- Contract or use different IH monitoring equipment to measure exposures.
- Prepare annual exposure monitoring plans and modify frequency based on results.
- Conduct / participate in investigations and find source of exposures
- Develop annual training programs for health related topics, for various work groups.
- Conduct health-training programs, evaluate effectiveness and improve competency of work force.
- Calculate annual health incidents rate and reduce incidents.
- Keep abreast of technology developments in health fields.
- Coordinate with site clinic doctor, to update clinical daily case registrations, follow up on medical cases, clinical statistics, develop wellness programs etc.
- Coordinate with external consultancies like toxicologist, ergonomist, acoustical engineer, environment engineer, biologists, chemists etc. to develop various IH related monitoring requirements and competency improvement programs.
- Review external parties’ bids for selection of vendor for monitoring services and provide comments to GPS (Global Procurement Services) department.
- Maintain IH equipment with periodic calibrations and upkeep them for monitoring and measurement needs.
- Identify opportunity for improvements; develop systems and implement IH systems continuously through technology, software programming etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in medical, or science degree (Occupational health preferred).
- Five years’ experience in IH only (Occupational health preferred).
- Coordinate with site clinic doctor, to update clinical daily case registrations, follow up on medical cases, clinical statistics, develop wellness programs etc.
