The Specialist, Operation & Common Warehouse, is responsible for supporting and managing the daily operations and activities within the common warehouse of an organization. This position requires expertise in warehouse operations, inventory management, and process improvement. The Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and accurate handling of goods, optimize inventory levels, and maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and execute the day-to-day operations within the common warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment and fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and investigations of discrepancies, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage configurations to maximize space utilization and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement warehouse processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools to track inventory levels, monitor order status, and generate reports for performance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, such as process automation, optimization of picking and packing procedures, and implementation of lean principles.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Train and mentor warehouse personnel on operational procedures, safety protocols, and best practices to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations, such as order fulfillment rate, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy, and take appropriate actions to meet or exceed targets.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Min 2 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management principles, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices within a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification or other relevant equipment certifications are preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
