Responsible for supporting the region in testing the Sox compliance and evaluating the gathered information to assess process performance. Ensure accurate documentation and updating of all SOX processes as required. 

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the documentation of processes and control narratives and other SOX compliance activities as required 
  • Participate on a team with Internal Auditors and other regional SOX coordinators and periodically participate in management meetings as required
  • Work independently to conduct testings and internal control activities in the region
  • Coordinate with the regional compliance manager and Internal Auditors to ensure timely completion of control sign-off and control walkthrough
  • Collaborate with process owners to update and maintain all SOX control documentation, including flowcharts and narratives
  • Reviewed control narratives to ensure their completeness and accuracy
  • Assist process owners in the SOX planning, scoping and SOX testing as required
  • Follow up with control owners for uplifted evidence to share for audit testing
  • Provide SOX compliance training to new control owners as required
  • Develop strong relationships with the regional departments to support these groups in further improving the overall control environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, preferably with a specialization in auditing 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant industry
  • Demonstrate understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, finance, and IT controls, and related standards;
  • General understanding of GAAP accounting and SEC reporting requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Package and office equipment 
  • Strong command of written and spoken English. Arabic is a plus                                                                                                   
  • Analytical/problem solving and Organization & Time Management skills are required
