Senior System Engineer IT

Job Description

•
Lead the design and implementation of system infrastructure projects.
•
Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
•
Mentor team members and provide guidance on technical issues.
•
Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
•
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
•
Recommend and execute modifications to systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
•
Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
•
Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Skills

Skills:
1. Proficiency in network administration, including configuring routers, switches, and firewalls
2. Strong knowledge of various operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and Unix
3. Experience in virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V
4. Advanced troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues
5. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, like AWS or Microsoft Azure
6. Ability to design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions
7. Knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security measures effectively
8. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders
9. Strong project management skills for overseeing IT infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
