The Senior Planning & Development Specialist will report to the PDD director and work closely with other ASU departments, namely the VC office, Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department, College Deans, and other stakeholders, to manage development efforts. They will provide support in all aspects of development
Responsibilities
- Support strategic planning activities to plan new initiatives that enable ASU to meet its future strategic goals.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to help in establishing short- and long-term goals for the development effort.
- Work closely with the PDD director to oversee development and planning activities and maintain consistent communication with unit heads and other stakeholders.
- Suggest and help develop a complete information/knowledge system with intelligent reporting tools.
- Help in conducting institutional assessments and organizational performance review activities.
- Assist unit heads and other stakeholders in various areas, such as the development of operational plans, achievement of strategic goals and priorities, and process improvement, by providing policy direction, advice, and counsel.
- Monitor and evaluate all ASU planning and development activities and report progress for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Design necessary tables and forms to collect and prepare data connected with plans and schemes to prepare the annual progress reports for different university units.
- Prepare periodic reports to track the execution of approved plans, including the progress made and the related risks.
- Collect relevant data to feed the strategic KPIs associated with the university-integrated report.
- Any other related tasks assigned by the line manager.
Experience
More than 4 years’ of experience in the closely related field
Skills
- Proficient in utilizing the Balanced Scorecard management system to effectively track and analyze organizational performance across various metrics.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis, report generation, and presentation purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through previous roles, showcasing the ability to effectively guide and motivate teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Proven experience in positions demanding excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling successful collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Proactive approach coupled with attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all tasks and projects undertaken.
Qualification
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in management, Business Administration, or any relevant specialization.
