Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience.

Reporting to the Resident Engineer (RE) and/ or Senior Resident Engineer (SRE). The Sr Mechanical Engineer will assist and support the RE or SRE with a range of site activities and tasks to ensure that the site activities are executed and implemented by following the construction documents and specifications. At times the Sr Mechanical Engineer will work independently managing projects. He will liaise with all relevant Authorities and Clients regarding site related requirements and coordinate with the Discipline Engineers on site.

He should be conversant with the latest Works specification and material specification and should be able to independently review the documents and drawings submitted by contractor.

Supervises quality assurance inspection staff and sub-consultants to verify the work is performed in compliance with the plans and specifications;

Supports the RE/SRE in assuming the Engineer’s Delegate role in administering the Contract Administration.

Monitors and assumes responsibility for the safety of AECOM’s Staff and Contractor’s personnel.

Coordinates and communicates with the Client, Authorities and Contractors personnel.

Processes daily project documentation and construction observations.

Prepares, issues and tracks Contractor’s Non-Conformance reports.

Reviews Inspectors’ and Sub-consultants’ Daily Work Reports.

Prepares correspondence to the Contractor and Client.

May provide technical direction to Engineers, Inspectors and Surveyors.

Leads Weekly Progress Meetings with the Client, Contractor and other team members in the absence of the RE.

Maintains project documents in accordance with Company and Client requirements.

Prepares monthly project status updates.

Performs other duties as required by the work and assigned by the RE/SRE.

Performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.

Assumes people management responsibilities such as daily timekeeping, performance management, annual performance review and the development and mentoring of staff.

Should know FIDIC based contracts or equivalent.

The candidate should have experience working in a multinational, multidisciplinary environment. The candidate will also be expected to undertake tasks outside of his/her primary role such as bid preparation, authority liaison etc

Qualifications

Qualification

BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Chartered Engineer or in process of obtaining Chartership. Higher qualifications will be preferred.

If Candidate having experience in Bahrain CRPEP registration Category A is mandatory

AUTOCAD skills.
