Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer – Cost Control to join our team and support our client on a high-profile project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing cost-related aspects of the project, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive cost control strategies to manage project budgets effectively.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish accurate cost estimates and forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditures and analyze variances against budgeted costs on a regular basis.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project performance.
- Review change orders, contract modifications, and scope adjustments to assess their impact on project costs.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and financial summaries to communicate cost performance to stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies to address potential cost overruns or delays.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure competitive pricing and cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Utilize cost control software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in cost control or project controls within the construction industry and a minimum 5yrs+ experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).
- Proficiency in cost control software and tools such as Primavera or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of driving results and meeting project objectives.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
