Job Title:  (Senior) Digital Learning Research and Assessment Specialist

Working collaboratively with DLOE’s strategic team, the Senior Digital Learning Research and Assessment Specialist supports and advocate QU/DLOE’s assessment goals, objectives and initiatives by carrying out a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring and evaluation of learning activities; planning, coordinating, and development of institutional assessment programs; identifying data collection needs, managing data collection activities, and translating research or evaluation results into actions. The position also serves as the primary point of contact for faculty and staff across the university regarding day-to-day matters related to assessment, providing guidance and informational presentations regarding institutional assessment activities. The candidate maintains digital repositories, monitors document submissions, evaluates program quality, analyzes data and participates in the submission of official assessment reports to relevant stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities  
1. Plan, develop, coordinate and implement assessment activities across the institution; perform direct assessment and assessment analysis; provide technical and professional guidance, consultation and support to departments regarding assessment plans, as appropriate. 2. Design and apply monitoring and evaluation tools and practices. 3. Define significant research and evaluation questions and support the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research methods such as surveys, case studies, key informant interviews and lead discussions through design of data collection tools and training data collectors. 4. Develop, plan, lead, and/or participate in educational, training and outreach activities, including program development and coordination of assessment related informational sessions. 5. Interpret assessment findings; analyze and comply comprehensive statistical and narrative data; and assist with the preparation of official assessment reports. 6. Data stewardship and dissemination including all activities required to ensure that digital research data are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) in the long term. 7. Participate in the preparation of institutional accreditation reporting, if and when required. 8. Contribute to clear, compelling, and methodologically robust reports, journal articles, policy briefs, presentations and other ways of making research, monitoring, and evaluation results available and accessible to university audience. 9. Assist faculty and staff with the preparation and submission of assessment forms and reports. 10. Support in the implementation and updates of DLOE strategic plan. 11. Collects and documents all the necessary data for reporting purposes. 12. Perform other tasks and duties that may be occasionally required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University. 13. Ensure confidentiality of information at all times. Demonstrate sensitivity in working with students and staff by showing respect for differences and the dignity of others.

Qualifications  

Minimum: ● PhD degree in computer science, data science, information management, information systems, educational technologies or relevant field. 

Preferred: ● Post-graduate diplomas or certificates in relevant fields.
