The Senior Contract Management Spec uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the Contract Management discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Contract Management discipline. The Senior Contract Management Spec solves complex problems and uses discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Contract Management Spec impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Contract Management team and other related teams and ensures they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Contracts and commercial aspects of the Project under the direction of the Contract Manager(s) in liaison with the Project Director/Manager
  • Work with the Contract Manager on Contract project kick-off activities, including Insurance Certificates, Bank Guarantees, Parent Company Guarantees, Contract document review, preparation of Contract summary, Contract required notices Lists, Deliverables lists, Flow-down Requirements, and Responsibilities Matrix, which are due in the first 30 days of Contract Award
  • Assist with Contract Review Kick-off meeting with the Project team to promote contract awareness and interpretation to support project implementation
  • Assist Contract Manager(s) with all relevant project management Contractual and Commercial procedures
  • Maintain appropriate Contract records
  • Work with Contract Manager(s) to prepare Contractual and commercial correspondence
  • Assist Contract Manager(s) with participation in Project risk meetings
  • Assist the Contract Manager in developing and preparing Project Change/Variation Proposals for the Client
  • Ensure that project monthly reports reflect an accurate position on all Contract and Commercial issues
  • Assist Contract Manager(s) in contractual and commercial aspects of Project Close-out

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years working experience, preferably in Contracts/Construction Contracting, similar experience and role
  • Working experience preferably in Offshore, Subsea, or Onshore Oil and Gas related projects
  • Good technical background and knowledge of the oil and gas construction industry
  • Has experience/background in Contract Management, Legal or Construction Contracting
  • Undertakes ad-hoc contractual and commercial assignments and initiatives
  • Fluent in the creation and editing of all Microsoft Office Suite documents
  • Foster an environment of teamwork to maintain high group morale and cooperation
  • Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and time management skills to achieve project goals
  • Excellent Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
