Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Accountant to join our team!

 

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing various accounting and financial tasks related to payment processing and transaction reconciliations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with payment systems and financial transactions.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Payment Processing Assistance: Assist in the accurate and timely processing of payments by reviewing invoices, verifying accuracy, and processing payments to vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Reconciliation Support: Assist in the reconciliation of payment transactions, bank statements, and other financial records to identify discrepancies and support the resolution process under the guidance of senior accountants
  • Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payment transactions, such as bank reconciliations, cash flow statements, and aging reports, by gathering and organizing relevant data.
  • Compliance Adherence: Adhere to financial regulations and company policies related to payment processing. Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in audits related to payment processing and financial transactions.
  • System Assistance: Collaborate with the IT department to navigate and utilize payment systems. Provide support to resolve any technical issues and suggest improvements for streamlined processes.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of payments, invoices, and other financial documents. Ensure proper documentation and filing for reference and audit purposes.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with team members in cross-functional departments, such as procurement, finance, and operations, to support and coordinate payment operations effectively.
  • Learning and Development: Actively learn and develop accounting skills and knowledge through on-the-job training, attending relevant webinars or courses, and keeping up with industry best practices.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the payment department, including organizing files, generating reports, and assisting with other departmental tasks.

 

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum eight years of work experience preferably in payment processing or general accounting.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
