Located in the former Ministry of Interior building, The Ned Doha offers seven restaurants, 90 bedrooms, event venues, and Ned’s Club, a private members’ club that gives access to spaces including a rooftop terrace, a health club with spa, gym and 30m outdoor pool.

Job Purpose:

The Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process to ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor the purchasing team to achieve departmental goals and improve performance.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Analyze inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Manage procurement budgets and provide regular reports on spending and savings.
  • Resolve any issues related to purchasing, such as delivery delays or quality discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

 

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
