Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project control processes and procedures to ensure effective planning, monitoring, and control of project activities in alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers to establish project baselines, track progress against plans, and identify deviations or risks that may impact project delivery.
- Analyze project performance data, including schedule variance, cost performance, and resource utilization, to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Prepare regular project control reports and dashboards for project stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of concern or improvement.
- Monitor and enforce project change control procedures to assess the impact of changes on project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure proper documentation and communication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate project control activities with project management processes, ensuring alignment and consistency in project execution.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential threats to project success, proactively identifying and addressing project risks.
- Support the preparation of project budgets, resource plans, and cost estimates, and assist in monitoring project financial performance against established targets.
- Utilize project management tools and software to maintain project control data, schedules, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for project team members.
- Participate in project review meetings, providing project control insights and recommendations to drive project performance and outcomes.
- Lead the development and implementation of standardized project control tools, templates, and guidelines for use across the PMO, ensuring consistency and best practices in project control activities.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project control strategies, including the development of project control plans, key performance indicators (KPIs), and milestone tracking mechanisms.
- Conduct regular reviews of project schedules, resource utilization, and critical path analysis to identify opportunities for schedule optimization and potential risks to project timelines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior project control staff, supporting their professional development and enhancing their understanding of project control principles and practices.
- Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely tracking of project costs, budgets, and financial reporting, contributing to the overall financial control of projects.
- Support the development and maintenance of risk registers, risk mitigation plans, and contingency strategies to address potential threats to project delivery and outcomes.
- Drive the utilization and adoption of project control software and technology platforms to streamline project control processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve reporting capabilities.
- Participate in lessons learned sessions to evaluate project performance, identify opportunities for improvement in project control processes, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of project management practices.
- Assist in the development and presentation of project control data and insights to senior leadership, providing meaningful analyses and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in project controls, and provide recommendations for the integration of innovative solutions to enhance project management and control capabilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, project management, or related roles within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure industry.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret project data to support decision-making and drive project performance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Knowledge of project management best practices, standards, and methodologies, such as PMBOK or PRINCE2.
- Experience working in a PMO environment or supporting multiple projects concurrently is preferred.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or project control (e.g., CCP, PSP) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to project control and management.
