Aldar Academies is currently seeking an outstanding Primary Class Teacher (KS1) for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2024.

Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum school with a Lower, Middle, and Senior School model located in a state-of-the-art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Teaching and learning:

  • To be able to teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum.
  • Organising the classroom, learning resources, and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the Mamoura British Academy USP in this area.
  • Planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Providing support and interventions for students with EAL or who have additional learning needs.
  • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentations.
  • Evidencing children’s work and learning in line with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
  • Being reflective of lessons taught and student progress, and adjusting planning, curriculum, and continuous provision to reflect this.
  • Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practices, and participating in school CPD and T&L initiatives.
  • To be able to demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision.

Assessment and data:

  • Taking responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class of children to ensure that they reach above-expected expectations.
  • Meeting the requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development using Learning Ladders.
  • Providing regular feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior management and duties:

  • To follow the Mamoura British Academy behavior management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches that are appropriate to pupils’ needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow the school’s procedures to manage and challenge any rare occurrences of unwanted behavior.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behavior that are expected of pupils.
  • Ensure that any concerns relating to behavior & Safeguarding are accurately followed up on and logged on CPOMS.

Wider professional responsibilities:

  • To work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
  • Support with organizing and taking part in school events, outings, and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • To run a weekly ECA each term to enhance the provision we offer for our students.
