Principal Accountabilities:

Uses materials and equipment identified in USCENTAFI 24-101 or equivalent, to prepare vehicles for long term/extended storage. 

Prepares, inspects, and applies preservatives in accordance with USCENTAFI 24-101 and guidance contained in the CORTEC manual/s.

Performs scheduled and unscheduled visual inspections on all long term/extended storage assets in accordance with 36-1-191 and USCENTAFI 24-101 to include a 90 day visual inspection of all assets in extended storage. 

Ensures that correct trade practices are carried out at all times with special regard to health and safety aspects in a work environment of high-risk health hazards.

Responsible for maintaining supplies and material stocks and reorders/reports shortages to the Material Control Specialist in a timely manner to insure uninterrupted production capabilities.

Prepares vehicles for final examination by the quality control inspector and or QAE to guarantee that the end item achieves or exceeds the required standard of quality. 

Is responsible for issued tools.

Performs servicing and repair on all tools and equipment used in the performance of preservation and reports all unserviceable non-repairable tools to his supervisor immediately.

Attends regular safety briefings and on-the-job training as required. 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Knowledge & Skills:

Must have organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at a beginner level.

Must possess a comprehensive and proven knowledge in a wide and varied range of refinishing schemes and techniques.

Must possess a depth of knowledge of associated health and hazard risks and the established precautions.

Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license. 

 

Experience & Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Possesses a qualification in painting and finishing.

Must have a minimum of two years experience in both corrosion control and vehicle preservation techniques. 

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.

Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
