Mission/core purpose of the job:
As a Power Specialist will be responsible for the overall management of all power systems in the network, these power types could include AC/DC, grid, generator, and rectifier or battery power. The Power Specialist will need to ensure maintenance is conducted across all power systems to ensure optimal results.
Key Job Responsibilities:
As a Performance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing inputs for design of highly efficient power systems (AC/DC) in line with up-to-date technology.
- Responsible for ensuring maintenance of power systems in the network for optimal results.
- Providing technical support for power systems to maintenance teams including but not limited to diagnosing, trouble shooting and repair of various power systems.
- Frequently visit sites to check-up power loads regularly, conduct requisite tests, analysis and advise on technical solutions.
- Fix power/electrical faults on site when required.
- Managing day to day power issues identified by tenants, landlords, contractors, and the NOC.
- Assisting in acceptance test and final acceptance tests of electrical/power installations.
- Main liaison with ECG and VRA on grid power related issues such as payments of bills, repairs, or replacement of faulty meters.
- Interacting with clients/vendors on DC power system requirements.
- Ensuring up to date records on power systems including generators, rectifiers, batteries, AVRS, ATS etc.
- Providing an accurate, complete, and consistent monthly report on the status of Gensets/AVRS and transformers in the network.
Job Specifications/Minimum & Preferred Requirements:
- Educated to a degree level in Electrical Engineering or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years’ experience maintaining all aspects of tower site passive infrastructure, including power or a similar maintenance of power systems related role.
