PMC Commissioning Lead Power

Wood is currently recruiting for a PMC Commissioning Lead- Power with extensive experience in the oil and Gas industry for ADNOC Offshore client to be based in Abu Dhabi.

Manage all activities associated with completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover for all phases. Ensures that EPC-2 yard contractor is adequately planning pre-commissioning and commissioning activities and executing completion work as per Contract. Facilitate support for permits to work and safe pre-commissioning and commissioning work practices. Additionally, lead commissioning team to achieve “Ready for Load Out” module status at the fabrication yard. Day to day guidance will derive from the Site Fabrication T/L or Manager while functional support and guidance for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning scope will be provided by EPC-2 Commissioning Manager and UZ-750 Commissioning Manager.

Successful candidate will provide assistance to the Contractor during the detailed preparation of the Commissioning including a review of planning and organizational requirements, in order to optimize the schedule by maximizing the onshore Commissioning thus keeping offshore Commissioning activities to a minimum.

Position will transition to island Commissioning team following completion of fabrication yard activities

Principal Accountabilities:

1.           Demonstrates personal HSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviors at all times. Performs as a safety leader through all work and activities, setting and exhibiting the highest standards

2.           Supports Fabrication Site Lead to oversee contractor’s pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and plans.

3.           Ensures that commissioning plans are adequate to comply with the overall project strategy to maximize pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in the fabrication yard

4.           Ensures that all check sheets are correctly populated and documented in Petro PCS, and Ready For Load Out status achieved.

5.           Validates System Completion Plans meet the intent of project specifications.

6.           Provides day to day leadership to commissioning team to ensure that all tests and work practices related to energized testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are being              executed safely, and ensuring PTW and LOTO requirements are met.

7.           Depending on Contractor’s execution plans, may also be responsible for multiple fabrication yards in a close geographic area.

8.           Reviews and approves contractor’s detailed method statements, procedures, and plans for execution of systems completions activities.

9.           Identifies and raises systems completions issues at an early state to ensure that problems can be rectified early with little or no impact on overall project execution schedule.

10.        Participates in construction, pre-commissioning, and pre-load out walk downs and punch listing.

11.        Ensures that pre-commissioning and commissioning tests and checks are properly witnessed by company personnel and any deficiencies found identified and corrected. Is accountable for pre-commissioning and commissioning test approvals or rejections.

12.        Supports preservation activities following completion of pre-commissioning and commissioning to ensure that modules are adequately preserved prior to load out.

13.        Prepares commissioning status reports and participates in regular commissioning updates with EPC-2 Commissioning Manager and UZ750 Commissioning Manager. Supports contractor to develop realistic pre-commissioning and commissioning schedules and track progress.

14.        Elevates commissioning issues to Commissioning Manager when necessary.

15.        Follows the project through to Handover, including supporting all offshore commissioning activities

Reports to EPC2 Commissioning Manager and UZ750 Commissioning Manager.  Is a full time member of EPC-2 project team.  Will transition to Island Site during Site Commissioning phase.

Acts as first line System completions issues interface with EPC-2 contractor and escalates important or urgent issues to EPC2 Commissioning Manager and/or EPC-2 Project Manager when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

•            Minimum of 15 years industry experience, preferably with packaged electrical buildings,10 years of this should be electrical construction and/or commissioning activities

•            Experience with commissioning and start-up of Gas Insulated Switchgear HV, MV and Control Systems is required

•            Experience with commissioning UPS and 415 V switchgear is highly desirable

•            Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory if experience requirements are met.

•            Must have good command of English language communications skills, both written and verbal

•            Must be willing to work extended hours when required and be willing to follow the project to offshore sites

•            Must have a working knowledge of at least one type of  systems completion database

•            Must be qualified to obtain CICPA and a UAE work visa
