Oliver Wyman is now looking for a Translator to be based out of our Abu Dhabi office!

Fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in both Arabic and English is essential

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Opportunity

Oliver Wyman Middle East is looking for highly skilled bilingual translator with more than 2 years’ experience translating professional client materials between English and Arabic in a business environment (preferably in Management Consultancy or other professional services) and have good understanding of culture and language localization in the region. You will join our professional translation support function and give you the opportunity to work on various industries and build your career.

Key responsibilities of the role include

 

  • Professionally translating between English and Arabic business and technical documents,
  • ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained, including:
    • Published marketing reports
    • Generic marketing presentations
    • Client proposals
    • Client presentations
  • Other internal presentations and documents
  • Liaising with clients to discuss any unclear points and consults with subject matter experts and
  • project teams in order to understand specialized concepts and translate them appropriately
  • Researching legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation
  • Uses highly specialized translation software to encourage efficiency and consistency
  • Retaining and developing knowledge on specialist areas of translation
  • Adheres to industry quality standards to ensure that all completed work follows legal and ethica lobligations

  • Highly organized, operates well within a team, as well as independently
  • Professional, tactful and able to engage with colleagues at all levels in the firm
  • Keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic client-services environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to deal with people at all levelsacross a multicultural environment, both directly and virtually
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage one’s own time
  • Ability to manage a heavy work volume and meet deadlines in an extremely fast pacedenvironment.
  • Flexible attitude, hard-working and results driven.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) and native in Arabic.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong planning and organization skills.

Technical Skills/ Qualification

  • Should be proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Educated to Graduate level (Degree in translation/experience in the field)

Language Skills

  • Fluent English and Arabic, written, reading and spoken
