Mechanical Engineering Technician

The mechanical engineering technician position offers an exciting opportunity to join a leading plastic bottle manufacturer utilizing blow molding technology. the role involves various responsibilities related to mechanical engineering work, including drawing preparation, equipment assembly, fault identification, and overseeing maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare drawings, plans, and designs for mechanical engineering projects.

Assemble and install mechanical assemblies, components, and machine tools.

Estimate material costs, quantities, and machine requirements.

Program and install machines and equipment.

Inspect and identify faults in machines and equipment.

Communicate with suppliers to order replacement parts.

Oversee equipment repair and replacement of faulty parts.

Organize and supervise inspection and maintenance activities.

Liaise with technicians, system designers, and office staff.

Ensure designs and finished work meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.

Experience working with blow mould machinery preferred.

General understanding of blow/injection moulding processes.

Ability to use computers and other technology for work outcomes and reporting requirements.

Exposure to high-pressure environments and remote or isolated work settings.

Physically capable of performing the role, including long periods of sitting and standing.

Experience in machinery maintenance and working within confined spaces and at heights.
