Job Description:

EGA is recruiting a Math Support Teacher. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide additional assistance to students who may be struggling with mathematical concepts from Grade 1 and up. Your job entails identifying areas where students are encountering difficulties, designing tailored instructional plans to address these challenges, and delivering lessons in a way that suits individual learning styles.

Your duties may include:

  • Assessment: Conducting assessments to gauge students’ understanding of mathematical concepts and identify areas of weakness.
  • Individualized Instruction: Developing personalized learning plans for students based on their specific needs and learning styles.
  • Small Group Instruction: Conducting small group sessions to provide targeted support and address common misconceptions.
  • One-on-One Support: Working individually with students who require extra help to master mathematical concepts.
  • Resource Development: Creating or sourcing supplementary materials, such as worksheets, games, or manipulatives, to reinforce learning and make concepts more accessible.
  • Collaboration: Collaborating with classroom teachers and other support staff to align instruction and support students effectively.
  • Progress Monitoring: Tracking students’ progress over time and adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Keeping parents informed about their child’s progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
  • Professional Development: Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay updated on best practices in mathematics instruction and special education techniques.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions and identify trends or areas for improvement.
