Parsons is looking for a talented Material Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications and may include any of the following:

Construction of roads, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping) Drainage work, Irrigation and planting, roadway

Installation of temporary and permanent signs and delineation

Building and facility construction and associated site development

Taking project photographs on a daily basis and filing them

Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations and writes daily diaries.

Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by contract.

Verifies that only approved materials are incorporated in the work

Maintains as-built plans.

Recognizes potential conflicts, issues and problems, and reports to supervisor with proposed solution.

Collects, reviews and files Certificate of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other information relevant to the materials used.

Coordinates work of subconsultants for surveying and material testing.

Prepares quality control reports and recommends changes to procedures.

Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.

Responds to the call backs in case of emergency at the Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Engineering from an accredited University to the approval of the Client

Minimum 10 years demonstrable experience, of which 5 years in similar large scale infrastructures projects.

Experienced in quality control and quality assurance of sewerage, surface and water, drainage, outfalls, pump stations, treatment works, road, highways construction quality and control requirement.

Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality.

Should be able to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carrying out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures, ensuring the compliance with the project’s specifications.

Ability to prepare accurate QA/QC plans and could lead, motivate a project QC team, write clear, brief, and accurate technical reports.

Must demonstrate experience in the relevant international Standards for Quality Assurance procedures.

Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Proactive acumen and an ability to manage multiple engineering requirement.

 

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

Candidates should contribute to all aspects of the project life cycle, from setting out, Designs, construction, testing and commissioning stage, with emphasis on data analysis, system testing, regression testing, and auditable documentation of results.

Initiate, plan and follow up closely on Project Close Out Requirement from the project inception on contractor submission to the approval of concerned stakeholders, the client and authorities not limited to Drainage Operation and Maintenance Department, Road Maintenance Department, other client’s internal departments, Municipalities, etc.

Coordinate, monitor, and follow up with external and internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary clearances for the projects close out.
