Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer -Materials Management (Procurement) to join our team for an exciting large-Scale infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, construction management, and quality control, with a proven track record of success in large-scale construction projects. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead a team to deliver results on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement plans and strategies to support construction project timelines and objectives.
Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, including research, sourcing, negotiation, and contract administration.
Collaborate with contractor/s, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, identify procurement needs, and develop procurement solutions.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure reliable and cost-effective procurement.
Analyze market trends, pricing, and availability of construction materials and equipment, and make informed procurement decisions.
Oversee the logistics of material transportation, storage, and delivery to construction sites, ensuring on-time and damage-free arrivals.
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, material shortages, and cost overruns.
Develop and optimize procurement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Leverage technology, data analytics, and automation to streamline procurement processes and improve decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate procurement activities with project planning, construction schedules, and quality control.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 18 years of experience in Construction and Materials Management.
Strong understanding of construction materials, procurement methods, and logistics operations.
Proven experience in materials management, quality assurance, and construction inspection on large-scale projects, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
