Lead Painter

Essential Functions:
Lead Painter is responsible for supervising the team operations and maintaining the required standards in a painting project. Their duties include painting permanent structures, backdrops, cutouts, set pieces, faux treatment applications, spray painting, varnishing, and plastering.
- Applies various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers
- Prepares, cleans, and tapes all jobsites
- Removes old paint coating, if necessary
- Mixes colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency
- Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned
- Cleans up worksite debris.
- Assigns and inspects the work of Painters initiates corrective action to secure satisfactory standards and timely project completion.
- Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and procedures for equipment maintenance.
- Maintains material records, and submits reports.
- Determines material and labor estimates.
- Participates in maintenance, repair, and installation duties in the trades.
- Participates in analysis of product health and environmental hazards as stated on legally required manufacturers’ Materials Safety Data Sheets to ensure application of materials as appropriate to area of installation.
- Collaborate with other maintenance workers, company officials, and staff to effectively provide solutions to maintenance problems
- Attend quickly to an emergency call on equipment repair issues, as well as to after-work-hour calls
- Perform other duties the supervisor may assign.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledgeable with different tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
- Knowledgeable with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Knowledge of life equipment operation, hazardous materials handling safety procedures, asbestos abatement, and scaffold safety
- Skill in repair and maintenance of painting assignments common to the trade
- Skill in estimating time and material requirements for work projects
- Trade certifications or equivalent experience
- Experience required by the position is from 2 to 4 years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organizations.
- Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance.
- Working knowledge is generally learned on the Job or through a series of professional certifications.
- Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment.
- Ability to read and speak and write English.
