Lead HSE Designer

Wood has been awarded a major project with ADNOC and, we are looking to hire a Lead HSE Designer to be based at our Abu Dhabi Engineering Center.

• Ensure design compliance in line with best practices, BU requirements and Company policies and procedures
• To guide junior staff in design processes and technical matters
• Monitor the performance of their team members to ensure the design’s correctness, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work requirements.
• Knowledge of basic engineering processes
• Familiarity with international codes, standards and engineering practices
• Thorough knowledge of onshore/offshore design engineering for the oil, gas and water fields.
• To provide designs and check to ensure they are accurate and in line with defined requirements.
• Hands-on experience on the following HSE deliverables
  • Hazardous Area Classification Layouts
  • Fire & Gas Detector Layouts
  • Fire Protection and Life-saving Equipment layout
  • Passive Fire Proofing Layouts
  • Escape Route and Safety Sign Layouts
  • Piping & Instrumentation diagrams
  • Process Flow Diagrams
• Coordinating with other centres / Safety Engineers for layout drafting
• Coordinate / Liaise with Consultants, Clients, on all client-related changes and comments and ensure approvals and consequent incorporation in the design.
• To support the Lead Engineer in completing design projects on time and within budget.
• To provide support in agreeing on the project brief, establishing timelines, delegating tasks, and monitoring the project’s progress.

• Monitor the performance of their team members to ensure the design’s correctness, completeness, and compliance with the scope of work requirements.

• Diploma of Engineering (Preferable)
• Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas design experience.
• Experience in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
