Primary purpose of job
To manage the medical laboratory in the allocated region, in the collection, testing and analysing of samples related to
chemistry, immunology and serology, microbiology, haematology, and nonautomated miscellaneous tests to provide
relevant results to be used in the diagnosis, treatment and follow up of diseases.
Experience & Skills
# Licensed Laboratory Technologist registered with Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) or to obtain within 6
months (essential).
# Minimum 5-8 years’ experience general pathology, hospital, polyclinic, or medical laboratory (essential).
# Managerial skills, i.e. supervision of staff, administrative procedures, preparation of budgets and store inventory
management (preferred).
# Experience in blood sampling techniques (essential).
# Experience in results analysis and interpretation of different laboratory tests (essential).
# Experience in the use of fully automated and computerized laboratory machines (essential).
Education
# B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences (essential)
