Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Human Resources Director to join our team! In this role you will lead HR in strategic management, day to day HR operations, and provide advice and guidance on multiple aspects of HR. The incumbent collaborates with business operations management to ensure a complete understanding of business needs to provide HR-based solutions.

 

Joining an established team in a fast-paced environment, where you will represent the Global HR function locally and represent the company at professional and/or industry committee meetings and where the results of actions typically have significant legal and monetary impact on the company the position requires expert knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and directs activities for the Country HR operations.

Manages government affairs staff activities, including block visa generation and approval, employee work and residence permit issuance, and appropriate government licensing for driving, entering security zones, etc.

Protects the interests of employees in accordance with corporate policies and relevant laws and regulations. Ensures that approved policies are administered equitably.

Keeps abreast of current human resources laws and pending legislation which might impact assigned area of responsibility. Provides training/information sessions for assigned management group and other HR department members on current topics.

Oversees annual performance management process and annual compensation planning process, including incentive plans, for Qatar based staff.

Oversees the completion of special HR projects in support of country management.

Conducts independent research and analyses, prepares reports, and presents results and recommendations to management. Serves as corporate consultant for area of expertise.

Keeps informed on the status of current projects and proposals. Anticipates changes in company workforce and is proactive in addressing necessary actions.

Provides leadership and direction to assigned HR staff, including identifying opportunities for career growth and development. Reviews staff work output, completes performance evaluations, and takes corrective action as necessary. Reviews salaries and recommends adjustments.

Develops a succession plan by identifying candidates who demonstrate potential for fulfilling future leadership roles. Ensures that each candidate has a developmental plan and is provided opportunities to engage in challenging assignments which will foster personal growth.

Supports country operations and corporate initiatives that may impact areas of responsibility, such as new acquisitions or proposals for new contracts. Participates in due diligence activities as directed by Corporate Management.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

 

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.

15+ years of demonstrated Human Resources experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills and must demonstrate skill in handling a wide variety of sensitive situations in dealing with a diverse employee population.

Proven ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with all levels of employees and managers on HR issues pertaining to assigned area of responsibility.
Ability to clearly articulate the relevant applications of laws, regulations, and company policies to guide and influence managers in making decisions on sensitive employee relations issues.

Proven ability to handle confidential assignments and work in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.

Proven ability to perform in a leadership role. Regularly provides advice and counsel to managers, as well as direction and guidance to HR colleagues and direct reports.

Expert knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to area of responsibility, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
